An easy way to connect your PHP applications to Google API already exists.

The Zend Framework released Zend GData PHP5 client side componenet that will help you to connect to Google Data API which provides a standard protocol and writing data on the web - Google Base, Calendar, Blogger, and CodeSearch, etc.

The Zend GData Client Library will be integrated with the Zend Framework in the near future.
